Amazon may be working on its own Android gaming console, according to a report released by Game Informer that cites sources "with knowledge of in-development hardware."
Game Informer states the console would be available around Black Friday of this year. The console would leverage titles already available on its platform and offer a daily free app. The console would also have its own controller, the report states.
Amazon already has plenty of its own hardware with the Kindle and Kindle Fire lines, so it's not unreasonable to assume a console could be on the horizon. However, the Android console market is already a crowded fieldOUYA, Nvidia's Shield and Gamepop already have consoles on shelves, and GameStick's will debut later this month.
