In The Strain, a vampire virus will sweep through New York City, and the head of the city's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention office must stop the outbreak.
The upcoming TV show, which cable channel FX has just ordered 13 episodes of, comes from the bestselling trilogy of novels written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, both of whom will executive produce this small screen version along with Carlton Cuse of LostThe Strain will premiere in July 2014.
