Yahoo will pay Katie Couric $ 6 million per year to be its "global anchor," a far cry from the $ 15 million she was earning as an anchor on The CBS Evening News, according to a report.
TMZ cites unnamed sources who quoted the $ 6 million figure. Couric has a $ 20 million-a-year deal with ABC, but "not all of that went to Katie personally," according to the report.
A rep for Couric could not be reached for comment.
Yahoo announced last month that Couric would "cover the world's most interesting stories and newsmakers" starting in early 2014. Such a deal was in the works since August, according to reports.
